Have you ever tried to plant an acorn but it did not work? Well here’s what to do to successfully plant/grow an Oak tree. The first thing you will need to do is plant the sapling, is have a sapling, the correct size hole, and soil. You need to do the correct size hole, then place the sapling in straight and upright. Then fill the hole but beware of girdling roots. Once the hole is filled softly pat down the soil with your foot or shovel. To keep your new Oak tree healthy and alive you will need to tend to it. In the first 1 to 2 weeks after planting water daily but be careful not to overwater at all times. 3 to 12 weeks after water the Oak tree 2 to 3 times a week. Once it’s been 12 weeks, water the oak tree weekly until its roots are fully grown. Make sure there are no weeds in a range of 2 to 3 feet around your tree. In addition, call an arborist/Arbor Ace every year for a yearly pruning. As you can see there is a lot of maintenance to planting and carefully growing up Oak Trees.
