I know first hand, it’s pretty stressful when an 80 foot tree falls on your property during a storm. As soon as ours fell, I called Arbor Ace and they arrived at my house within the hour. In the wind and rain, they assessed the damage, made sure everything was safe, and set up removal for the next day. From the minute I spoke with them, I felt secure about the situation, and knew they had it under control. When it came time to remove the tree, they arrived as scheduled and carefully and safely removed it from my house and property. They literally handled everything, including dealing with insurance. I’m not exaggerating when I say there wasn’t a spare twig or pinecone they didn’t pick up. The crew all seemed happy and excited to do the work, which is reflected in their work. I highly recommend Mike and his team!

Mike was working at my neighbors’ house across the street and came by to drop off a hydrangea they were getting rid of. While he was here he took the time to give me some much needed advice to get my grass growing, and which products I should use. Mike is awesome and honest guy. We wanted to trim our Emerald Green Thuja Arborvitae. Then, Mike explained that it would not do any good at all and actually cause the trees to wither away and die. Then, we asked what we can do with other problem tree. He explains everything well and keeps it simple and logical. Also, he didn’t charge us at all for the consultation! In the future, if I have any issues with trees and such, I will reach out to Mike for sure. Thanks Mike!

Mike and his team managed to turn a tree falling onto our house into a pleasant experience. Mike immediately responded to our call, traveling to our place at midnight in the heavy wind and rain to evaluate the situation and patiently walk us through the tree removal and insurance claim processes. He and his crew went to work in an obviously skilled, organized, and professional manner. That, and their kindness, put my wife and me completely at ease. The tree was efficiently removed and the cleanup was spotless. Mike’s motto is that he goes above and beyond, which was absolutely true in our case. Mike is such a great guy. My yard looks the best it has in years! We needed a bunch of stuff to be cut back/trimmed and he took care of it all beautifully. These trees weren't just hacked down...they were shaped up so nicely that it looks like they just grew that way. From start to finish Mike really impressed me. He showed up when expected, did wonderful work and then cleaned up my yard as if nothing had ever happened. To top it all off, he is a really nice guy! I had a very large Black Walnut tree in my backyard that needed to come down. Mike and his crew were extremely professional and were careful to put down plywood to protect the lawn and surrounding areas with cones where necessary. They spent 3 and a half days removing the tree, grinding the stump and they leveled out the rest of the yard as best they could. They provided great service and got my job done in a timely manner, I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work

I have no hesitation recommending Arbor Ace for any tree-related needs. Mike goes above and beyond in every way possible to make sure you are happy with what he does.We had a pretty large job that needed to be done across our entire property after purchasing a new home. We pretty much knew nothing about what trees needed to be trimmed, cut down, or removed. Mike was incredibly helpful explaining everything to us. His clear love of trees and his dedication to customer service is pretty much unparalleled in the home services space.Mike went above and beyond by notifying all of my neighbors about what he was doing ("you have an awesome tree guy!" they all said) and also moved around the days of the service due to our personal circumstances. Not only did he remove, prune, and fix up the trees on our property, but he left it looking like he had never even been there - leaves were removed, he was careful not to trample our lawn, and cleaned up all the debris.I absolutely recommend Arbor Ace for anything tree related. You won't be disappointed!

I called Mike to trim a tree on my front lawn. He showed me all the issues with this old tree and would trim it if that's what I wanted. After understanding what poor shape this tree was in I decided to remove it. Mike and his crew showed up on the day he said he would and after an 11 hour day they cut down the tree, removed all the branches and leaves, removed the stump, and swept the entire area clean. We absolutely loved our tree, but late February I noticed a crack forming where the main leads forked. I called a few places for estimates, but when Mike came onsite, he took the time to fully educate me on the extent of our issue, which was an emergency thanks to his keen eye and expertise. I had a huge over 80ft birch tree in front of my house and recently one of a big trunk rotten and fell off on the main road and the town immediately requested to remove it.Luckily Mike who is the owner of Arbor Ace happened to pass by my house and left a note to contact him for tree removal service.I've called him next day and he came to give me a free quote right next day and explained everything carefully as I have no idea about tree removal. He was very clear, polite and honest at the time. To be honest, i had a much lower quote from the other company but they were not as trusted as Mike so I decided to hire him even though it costed me more. I had to remove my dying oak tree in my backyard. The access was tight but climbing the tree was considered too risky since the branches might be brittle. Mike developed a removal plan using his state of the art crane truck. Not only it made the job safer, it also reduced the working time in half. Mike, his brother John, and his crews worked very hard in a hot sun to meet the schedule. They made sure proper supports were provided for the crane so that the driveway wouldn't get damaged. After everything was done, they made sure the work area was cleaned. I am very happy with the work they did. Highly recommended.

Had a great experience working with Mike and Logan from Arbor Ace. It started with walking the property with Mike and talking about each tree and shrub to identify the work that needed to be done. We have a lot of mature plants that needed TLC from years of no pruning. The end result is fantastic - the trees look great. They also did an amazing job grinding stumps and cleaning up all the debris, and put down boards to protect the grass from the heavy equipment. Other than the trees looking so much better and healthier, you’d never know they were here. They were also very respectful of our neighbors - they cleaned up all debris that fell on their property. I called Arbor Ace about two years ago after buying our first home and realized that the Apple tree in our backyard had produced some many apples it was weighing the limbs down so much. We were extremely pleased with our experience with Arbor Ace. Owner Mike was attentive to detail and highly responsive to text/phone calls (something that we really value). Before he gave a quote on the job, he visited just to assess our yard and explain, in scientific detail, the pros and cons of various tree trimming options. If you have any questions at all related to trees and planting, Mike is an excellent resource. We did eventually choose to do our tree removal (front yard) and trimming (back yard) with Arbor Ace. Mike, Logan and the entire team were courteous, efficient, tidy & protective of the surrounding environment in their work. By Mike's own admission, his company is not "the cheapest guy", but you get the quality that you pay for and that quality was amazing. They went so far as to clean off neighbors' decks and yards from any wood dust the tree projects generated. A few of our neighbors came by that evening and commented that if you didn't know the neighborhood you'd never know there was a tree in the yard NOR that there were several tons of heavy machinery on our lawn that morning. Very happy with the service and would gladly call them again for future needs.

We just had Mike and and his partner Logan at the house to do some work. This is the 2nd time we have Mike coming over. A+ all the way. These gentlemen know their stuff, and I wouldn’t trust my trees with anyone else. We hired them to trim and shape two trees. They did a great job on the one in front of our home. It really has enhanced how the front of the house looks. They were even able to get a nasty plastic bag that had blown high into the branches off. The tree in our backyard is our problem child and had what we thought was one dead branch, but it is a really dense tree, so on the day of service, they found several were damaged and needed to be removed.The gentleman who cut our trees was amazing. He was able to remove all of the dead branches and kept the integrity of the tree looking good. Now we have a healthier tree for it.They did not charge us for the extra work (and it was a lot of extra work), for which we were extremely grateful.The clean-up was amazing. You would never have known we had our trees cut.I highly recommend this company. They are professional, caring about their jobs and your trees, and do a fantastic job. Thank you very much! I cannot say enough good things about this company.Update: Our tree branch broke in the 2/28/23 storm. Mike was here the same day we called to look at it and came the next day to fix the tree. Backstory:
I had a tree branch fall and damage my roof. I had called Mike Zelenka at "Arbor Ace Tree Service" for a tree inspection. After looking at the tree, Mike noticed some structural issues with the trunks of the tree. He pointed out how there was actually three trunks and showed me where they joined together and how that would be an issue. Upon further inspection he noticed a cavity where two of the trunks came together and could tell that bugs and other plantlife were living in that area. Mike had presented a couple of recommendations, with the best one being to remove the tree, because, while we could have cabled the trunks together for a little better support, the main problem would still be there.

We decided to go with the recommendation of removing the tree and we're extremely glad we did; the cavity that Mike noticed was much larger on the inside and went all the way down to the base (see image). The tree would have fallen.

We had the inspection occurred on a Friday, and once we decided what to do, Mike was able to get us scheduled on the following Tuesday.

What also impressed me with Mike was, when inspecting the tree, he noticed a rotten limb above my neighbors driveway and then took the time to alert them of the potential danger if and when that limb would come down, not just to their vehicle but to themselves.

Tree Removal Day:
Our tree was quite large > 50'. To get it down quickly and safely, Mike brought in "Z Tree Experts" to assist with the removal. We had a crane with a claw to grip the limbs, a person in a bucket truck to make the cuts, and a grinding machine for the branches.

The tree was on the edge of our property line and the crews needed access to a neighboring yard for the bucket truck, and the crane was along the street. Wherever the supports for the trucks were extended, sheets of plywood were laid out to protect the area. Mike also made sure it was okay to utilize part of the neighboring yard before coming out.

Both crews were amazing, the coordination between the two was seamless, and the tree was down in the same day. Not only was the service they performed excellent, but also their professionalism while on the job.

After the tree was removed, the crews thoroughly cleaned up the area; and not just my roof and yard, but those of my neighbors as well. Aside from the stump which will be ground out after this post, you cannot tell that a tree was there and taken down today.

Working with Mike was great! His knowledge really shows, his communication is excellent and he was very responsive with any questions we had and what needed to be done before the job started. I only dealt with Mike on the details of the tree, but I highly recommend both businesses for the work they performed.

Now that the tree is removed, Mike has also given us recommendations of what tree(s) to plant in our yard and we'll be looking to him in the future to do this work.

I had to wait a while after the quote for the work to be done since they were tied up on a lot of emergency tree removal from storms and a tornado but I am glad that I did. A big ol' maple tree, which took sick and more or less rotted over the years in my Hasbrouck Hts backyard, buckled at its midpoint in furious wind gusts the other night. In the morning it was bent at a crazy angle, the upper half leaning against an adjoining tree, poised to either crash down on my garage or onto my downslope neighbor's house! I rushed to Google, came upon Arbor Ace's website and was suitably impressed. So I called and Mike answered.
Twenty minutes later Mike was standing in my backyard assessing the perilous situation. Less than an hour later he returned with his partner in their big truck, mega chipper in tow, bearing a huge assortment of arboreal pruning and cutting equipment and enough rigging and ropes to scale El Capitain!
With access to the dangerously inclined tree too narrow and tight for Arbor Ace's crane or bucket truck to enter either property, Mike took it upon himself to scamper up the adjoining tree and, with his partner (Mike 2) assisting on the ground, they did what had to be done the old-fashioned way. The job took over two strenuous hours: first to truss up the bent section to nullify its potential threat, then, piece by piece, carefully dismember the dead tree from its crown on down while severing the entwined branches supporting its weight. Finally, down to the last connection holding up the entire section, Mike's trusty chainsaw sliced through the final branch. Suddenly freed, the downward force splintered apart the "elbow" bend of the trunk and the detached massive 15-foot quarter-ton section swung down firmly tethered and bumped resoundingly against it's own upright 20-foot rooted trunk. Mission accomplished! With the danger over and dusk approaching, the two Mikes called it a day, assuring me that chipping the remains of that entire tree with total clean-up of the backyard will be accomplished first thing next day.
Needless to say these guys are quite adept at their job but, in light of the circumstances, I must add that I sure admired their resourcefulness, their professionalism and most importantly their immediate and ultimately successful response to my emergency.

They gave an estimate on when, how long the job would be, and what to expect. They were able to also address all of my questions i had. At the end, we decided it was best to remove the tree.

The job was finished in 3 half days (its December, so days are short now), stored and cleaned up the all the branch debris. I was expecting to come home with tree twigs everywhere the day they took down the branches and chipped the wood. I thought i would have to do some light sweeping but was surprised to not find branch/tree debris in my backyard, front yard, drive way or street.

They were swift, thorough, efficient! They were able to cut the tree and grind the stump with no damage to our shared fence, sheds, or bushes around the tree.

They were very friendly and courteous. They called ahead, reviewed logistics with our schedule, street cleaning, and where to park their vehicles. They also contacted our neighbors ahead of time with permission to use their backyard and block the drive way.

I would absolutely recommend them as they went above and beyond expectations.

Efficient, Safe, Cost Effective: Crane Service Tree Removal

The Tree Mek allows us to extract trees from the landscape with minimal to no site impact and allows us to accomplish our goal of leaving every property we work on in a better condition than we found it in. What is a Tree Mek and how can it be a solution to your tree problems?

A Tree Mek is a radio remote controlled Palfinger Knuckle Boom Crane equipped with a Mecanil grapple-saw cutting head mounted on the end of the cranes fly jib. The crane is mounted on a short wheelbase cab over truck so it can access confined work areas that we typically encounter in northern New Jersey.

How Does a Tree Mek Work?

Upon arrival the operator will determine the best possible location to situate the crane. This exact location will be determined by specific crane, site, and tree factors. If it is to be placed on a non-paved area we will typically lay down a plywood road so their is minimal to no surface impact. Once the truck is in position the operator will deploy the stabilizers which will provide support to the crane. The operator will next link the remote to the crane and now it will become operational. The crane can now be unfolded. Once unfolded the grapple saw cutting head will be attached to the end of the fly jib.

The operator can now go to work removing the tree. Using the remote the operator will precisely place the grapple saw on the portion of tree to be cut. The grapple tines will be remotely engaged to hold the piece to be cut. Then on a separate remote the operator will press a button that will activate the saw. The limb is now cut free of the tree and securely held by the grapple. The operator will now be able to place this where it can be further processed. This process will be repeated over and over until the tree is completely removed. If the tree is exceptionally large we will grapple-saw whatever we can and then sling the larger diameter log sections that are to big for the grapple saw as we do with a conventional crane.

The Tree Mek allows us to do our job safer and more efficient than ever before because it takes the climber out of the tree for most if not all of the removal operation. The efficiency of this piece of equipment comes from processing the tree faster with a reduced amount of labor. A Tree Mek and operator can typically do the job of two highly skilled people in most circumstances. Being able to remove and prune trees more efficiently means time savings on the job which directly correlates into dollar savings for our clients. The increased efficiency also leads to quicker time on site reducing impact to your daily routine as well.
