Crack crackle crack. My dad and I were staring up past the cold icy lake and into the thick woods as the sky was turning bright colors. My dad then said to me pointing, “You see that tree in the distance that’s a
White Pine. Do you know how I could tell?” “No?” I answered questioningly. “Well it has wild, wispy branches and is an evergreen tree. You see that it’s also the tallest tree out of all its surrounding trees.” He stated. “Really!? Cool!” I whispered excitedly as the fire grew louder, brighter, and warmer as I turned around to warm my face. After warming my face and watching the fire I had realized how dark it had gotten, the sky was now a dark blue with stars beginning to shine in the dark night sky. After I had warmed my face I turned back around to look at the frozen lake and the night sky, but I also still saw the dark outline of the White Pine. I will never forget this amazing learning experience about the White Pine with my dad.
