Not to mention, it is good for the mind, body, and soul to walk around an arboretum and soak in the wonder of nature around you. It is a scientific fact that being outdoors and around plants have a calming effect on human beings, but in addition to that, it can inspire and help you get an idea for what you would want to see on your property. Sure, there are expensive, exotic specimens at arboretums, but you would be surprised what goes unnoticed at an arboretum and is readily available at your garden center at low cost! Finding an arboretum or garden center near you is as simple as a quick search on the web or ask your arborist for their suggestion of places to visit. Installing a creative specimen, or even a common albeit perfectly placed one on your property can lend to a feeling of self-satisfaction every time you walk by it as you watch it thrive and flourish. It can add value to your home as it improves your property’s curb appeal.
So, get out there, take a look around, and take notes of some of the trees and shrubs that tickle your fancy. Then, simply discuss it with your arborist if something you saw at the arboretum and/or garden center is something that you might like to see living on your property to find out if it is the right plant for a replacement today!
