The wonders of worm waste! If you ever have known a gardener, you know they get excited to have worms in their garden. This is because worms provide nutrition to the soil.
Well, you don’t need a garden to have worms, you can have a Vermacomposting bin. What is Vermicomposting? Vermicomposting is when you use worms to break down waste. You can put a variety of things in for your worms to eat such as veggies, cardboard, newspapers, fruits, pasta, and ground up eggshells for calcium as it acts like grit for your worms. When feeding your worms, chop up the big stuff, be sure it is damp and/or slimy, and no glossy newspaper, as it has toxins that can be dangerous to your worms. The worms will eat the food you provide, then poop out the nutrient rich waste. Sprinkle it around the root zone of your tree or in your garden as it will provide 10x more nitrogen, 7x more potassium, and 3x more phosphorus over topsoil. As you can see worms play an important role in agriculture.
