Many animal’s population numbers are declining due to habitat loss because people are cutting down healthy trees.
In addition to cutting down healthy trees, wildfires and farming are also reducing the number of trees. In the cold frigid weather during winter, birds depend on Holly Trees for protection from the weather and predators.
Our very own bald eagles need trees to roost on and make nests for their young. Wood Peckers peck holes in ash trees to eat the lava infesting the tree. Black bears will also climb trees to take naps or to get away when they are frightened.
Some animals, like garter snakes, hide under trees while squirrels use trees to make nests. Bees even make their hives in trees. It is important to save the trees, not only for ourselves but for the welfare of animals in nature.
